Fragments is a series of spontaneous compositions recorded between 2013-2015.

They are presented in their original form, recorded on lo-fi equipment, often in outdoor or public environments. I have tried to capture a certain ambiance in this way - a snapshot of a moment in time, which can never be replicated. Indeed, many of these pieces I cannot remember the tuning, or how to play. I believe that this gives them a cherished, special value.

Fragments explores the theme of impermanence - of the ephemeral quality of sound and its recording, of live music - and how this is a reflection of the transient nature of not only our own emotions, relationships and memories, but also our own temporary existence as human beings.
